Good Morning All!! So you are wanting to get your craft on eh? Well lets go! What are we waiting for ?! We're Getting Crafty!!
First things first, If you need to find out about where to find and getting those pallets ready read my last post :) Here is the link, it will give you the info you need to start this project.
Now, with the pallet wood selected and cut into size that will work for your projects its time to let your creativity flow!!
Things you will need
*Drill with wood bit
*Acrylic Paint ( I used Apple Barrel and Craftsmart Brand)
*3 pieces of pallet board
*Wood glue ( I used Gorilla Glue Brand)
* 1 1/2' Steel bailing wire (I used a small gauge from Home Depot)
*Paint brushes
* Tool or Ribbon
*Painters Tarp or Garbage Bag
*Pencil or Dowel of equal size
PICK the design and color of what you would like to paint. For this craft I chose to paint 3 monsters. Purple, Green, and Blue.
Place the boards side by side to see where they will have a flush connection.
DRILL a hole in the left hand corner one of the boards. In another board drill a hole in the right hand corner. ( You will be gluing the boards together and stringing wire through the holes to hang. So make them big enough to fit the wire through.)
Lay down a plastic painters tarp or a garbage bag over the surface you will be painting on, just to keep your area clean.
GLUE the right side of the monster with the drilled hole on the top left corner to the monster with no holes wiping any glue drippings with a wet paper towel. I propped mine up and on the plastic so it wouldn't get glue all over my table, that worked the best for me. Clamp together. Let Dry.

PAINT the front and sides with the colors you choose, I did 2 coats and let them dry a bit in between. Paint the back when you can safely prop the craft up against something so it can fully dry.. (I used the plastic and covered a roll of paper towels.) I let them dry completely over night, but you could use a hair dryer to dry it faster. Don't use the HIGH HEAT setting it will create bubbles. Turn on MEDIUM or COOL setting and keep it a safe distance above the wood to ensure it doesn't bubble or run.
While the paint is drying I made the accessories.
*For the TUTU cut 1 yd. X 3" of tool. Cut into 7 equal parts. Use one part to be the main portion of the tutu, the other 6 pieces tie onto the first piece. Use the wood glue to secure the tutu on the monster. ( I used a clamp to hold it in place while it dried.)
*For the BOW cut 6" X 2" of tool. Any Color. Tie in a bow. Set aside.
When the paint is dry it is time to give them their character!
Below are some faces that I drew using easy geometric shapes or you can create your own :)
PAINT those faces on boards and let dry.
If you want to have an extra seal spray with clear spray paint.
I chose to make 2 girl monsters but feel free to change it up!
Use the wood glue to glue on bows
clamp to keep them attached while drying. Let dry.
Take away the clamps from the bows and tutus. (Ain't she cute!!!)
When it is all dry and sturdy take the wire and put one end through the left hole. Pull it through an inch or so, take your pencil or dowel wrapping the wire around it making it curly. ( This will make it so it will hang as well as making it cute.) Wrap the remaining wire around the pencil or dowel to make that curly as well. Putting the free end through the right hole and curling that end as well. Stretch the wire a bit to where you think it will be a good length for you.
YOU ARE DONE!!! LETS SEE THOSE MONSTERS!!! POST YOUR PICTURES BELOW!!!! Along with any questions or comments!! Thanks for reading!!!
**Here are some Ideas on the faces you can do. Oh and don't forget to add eyelashes if you to make your monster a little more girlie!
